Treasured Friends

Moving to Missouri was a little rough at first.  My daughter Hannah told everyone we were moving to "Misery" instead of pronouncing Missouri the correct way.  It was hard for her to leave her friends in Utah.  When we arrived in Missouri Hannah didn't have an immediate connection with the young women in our new ward.  I found a homeschool group on Facebook that was in our area and went to the first meeting/playgroup.  I was telling some of the other moms how hard it had been for my kids to leave friends and family, especially Hannah.  A beautiful woman named Glenda invited us to her church's youth activities.  At first, I wasn't sure... but weeks passed, and my kids were still struggling to make friends. I messaged her again and got more details about the activities.  We have been going ever since.  My kids have made so many friends there and I love what they learn- it is goodness and light.  The girls' program has several badges they earn throughout the year and sew onto a sash.  These pictures are from the award ceremony from May 2021. I will forever be grateful to my dear friend Glenda for having the courage to invite us!!

My beautiful Joyliana

Evalina was so shy at first.

I couldn't resist showing the pictures of Evalina blowing me kisses and crossing her arms over her chest - she was saying "I love you". 💗

What Evalina learned in Handmaidens her first year.

What Hannah learned her first year in Handmaidens, I think I forgot to get a picture of what Joyliana learned. :(

Pictures of Joyliana in class.  Joyliana is in the bottom right picture wearing bright pink shoes and a vest.  She is also in the picture above that sitting down in the back.

Hannah sewing her vest.

Joyliana is behind the young lady in the light green/blue skirt.  I love her silliness! 💗
